DT Seizures Are Television Worthy Now

VH1 has a new reality TV show called Celebrity Rehab. Eight drug addicted celebrities have checked themselves in to get help from none other than Dr. Drew Pinsky. Some of you might know Dr. Drew from his show Loveline, which ran on MTV for a number of years.

The cast for Celebrity Rehab includes Daniel Baldwin, Mary Carey, and Jeff Conaway. During episode 1, Conaway has to be rushed off to a hospital after seizing his first day in rehab. I’m not quite sure what to make of this. On the one hand, I find it a bit repugnant that people’s lives being destroyed by addiction is the evening’s entertainment for millions of people. On the other hand, perhaps a dose of rehab reality is just what the doctor order. Plus, it’s not like these celebrities aren’t a.) aware that a camera is following them around and b.) getting paid to be on the show. Either way, I wish them the best and, sadly enough, will probably be tuned in to see what happens.
